About Arte
I have been woodworking and remodeling since I was old enough
to hold a hammer (5, I think?). Initially I worked with my Grandfather and Father in our home based shop. As a matter of fact, my first projects were
remodeling jobs on my parents house. They were real sports about all those early faux pas, which
taught me a great deal about the craft. Later on I worked for a number of Contractors gaining experience from
roofing to masonry, and always focusing on the carpentry. Along the way I also had the good fortune to
work side by side with a few true "Master Carpenters".
My parents always stressed the necessity of a good
education, even though I always leaned to the Trades. After college and a stint in a white collar professional
position, I decided to return to my first love, carpentry.
In 1993 I founded the business known as The Village Carpenter, and
have been woodworking and remodeling on my own ever since.
My goal is to provide you with the highest level of craftsmanship
and personal attention which I possibly can. Additionally, I devote the same amount of time to detail on
every project irrespective of project size.
I hope you have gleaned enough information from this site to take
the next step and contact me about your project.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regards, Arte
